This piece was inspired by a story my mother told me about how she ruined a teal dress of hers as a child. She didn't quite remember exactly how the dress was ruined, so I imagined what could have possibly taken place. There's pointed impasto work in a fiery orange, there's muddy yellows, jagged edges, and more textures and colors to evoke the playfulness of obliterating something beautiful. The work is sewn together in gold borders, honoring the destruction and chaos. Digital Image included with purchase!
