A Night In

A Night In

Come to the table,

Red oak adorned with maple,

I’m so far from home

Drizzle on glass,

Beads of watery worlds

Reflecting what’s changed

Tuft of hair aside

Eyes of golden witch hazel,

No tricks, just magic

A new tradition

Gives way to inhibitions,

A gentle peck returned

Clothes in a pile,

Creased into a red dress-

A wrinkle in time

Too cold to lay apart

Too hot to hold you close,

Compromise be damned

Moonbeams cast shadows,

A sihilouette worth a thousand words

Stuck struck in stark relief

The door opens, at dawn

Wayward home I’m bound

Farther now than ever
