Ownership

Ownership

What do I owe you

But a simple parting gift

What could I tell you

Where I wouldn’t feel remiss

Maybe I will leave you

With a pitter patter in your heart

Maybe I’ll bring you books

That will make you feel more smart

There’s thousands upon thousands

Reasons for why I care

But there never could be one

Reason why I’d beware

Because you’ve been part of my life

I think I’ll always know

The only thing I’ll ever owe you

Is all the love I can possibly show
